Some people think there’s a difference in meaning between going “pro se” and proceeding “in propia persona.” The argument is that if you act “pro se” you are acting “for yourself” as your own lawyer, while if you act “in propia persona” you are just acting in your own (non-lawyer) person. I think this is probably poppycock, but I have often been mistaken…..and might be this time….I believe in hermeneutic analysis, just not that particular one….
